Zelenskiy, in his statement on August 11, stated that they discussed the results of the inspection of the military branches at the special meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, “There are a total of 112 criminal cases, 33 suspicions against the officers of the military branch. With the decisions we have made, we dismiss the military commissioners of all regions.” he had used the phrase.

President Zelensky noted that the new military commissars would be supervised by the Security Service of Ukraine before being appointed.

According to local media reports, it was revealed last month that military commissioners in some regions abused their duties and accepted bribes during the recruitment process.

After journalists revealed that Odessa’s military commissar Yevgeniy Borisov owned expensive property and luxury cars in Spain, Borisov was arrested on suspicion of selling documents to citizens proving he was unfit for military service.

Police also announced that the Dnepropetrovsk military commissar had registered several cars in his father’s name during the Russian war against Ukraine and bought two apartments in the city of Dnipro.

Aleksandr Novikov, head of Ukraine’s National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, said the lifestyles of 135 military commissars were inspected and most of them did not have expensive property. (AA)
