They approve regulations to register ghost weapons

According to the CNN report, Chief Justice John Roberts and Conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined the three liberal members of the court in a 4-5 vote to make it take effect.

Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh voted against it.

Thus, the court approved the recreation of Biden’s regulation on the registration of “ghost weapons.”

On July 27, the Biden administration asked the US Supreme Court to reinstate the regulation, which is defined as “ghost weapons” and is intended to prevent the spread of custom-built firearms that law enforcement forces order have difficulty tracing, after the lower court struck it down. .

The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) updated its regulations in 2022 to define such weapons as firearms to facilitate government tracking.

Accordingly, to track “ghost guns” that are not locked for sale, they must be serial numbered and registered.

In an ATF study, the use of “ghost guns” without serial numbers at crime scenes was reported to have increased 2-fold in 2021 compared to 2020. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
