Words to escalate the crisis… Gallardo threatened
Israeli Defense Minister Gallant, who visited the Lebanese border, addressed Nasrallah, Secretary General of the Hezbollah Movement.
Gallant said: “You have made mistakes in the past and you have paid a heavy price. If there is tension or conflict here, we will turn Lebanon into a stone age.” he used his statements.
“We don’t want war, but we are ready to protect our sovereignty, our soldiers and our citizens.” Gallant said that if necessary, they can use all their military forces.
On the other hand, Hezbollah has not yet ruled on Gallant’s statements.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the war that began on July 12, 2006 and lasted 33 days due to the military conflict between the Hezbollah organization and Israel, around 60 Israelis and more than 1,000 Lebanese were killed and more than 100,000 Lebanese civilians were displaced from their homes.
The war ended with the ceasefire declared on August 14, 2006. United Nations Security Council resolution 1701 was approved by the parties and it was decided to deploy soldiers from the United Nations Interim Peacekeeping Force (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon. (AA)
