Student sentenced to prison for committing firearm attack at school
Timothy Simpkins, 19, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for wounding 2 students and a teacher with a weapon at a high school in Arlington, Texas, USA in 2021.
The court board sentenced Simpkins to 12 years in prison, for which a life sentence was sought on the attempted murder charge.
Simpkins testified in court that he only carried the weapon to protect himself and said that Zaccheaus Selby (15), with whom he had a fight, entered the classroom and began to hit each other.
In his defense, Simpkins said: “I’m so sorry. I just want a second chance,” he said.
Simpkins fought 15-year-old Selby at Timberview High on October 6, 2021.
