Wagner’s Central African advance blank in Russia

The Russian security company Wagner has sent hundreds of new soldiers to the country ahead of the constitutional referendum in the Central African Republic (OAC) to be held on July 30.

In the statement made from Wagner’s Telegram account at the OAC, it was indicated that new troops affiliated with Wagner arrived in the country to provide training and security to OAC military personnel. In the statement that shared the photos of the units, which included hundreds of soldiers, it was stated that the OAC army, police and gendarmerie, which have been trained by Wagner for 5 years, have made progress in increasing the level of country security.

Wagner’s troops in the OAC, estimated to have close to 2,000 Russian mercenaries, were claimed to have started withdrawing from the country in early July. The OAC’s presidential spokesman, Albert Yaloke Mokpem, announced that the allegations that the Russian security company Wagner left the country were not true and that the troops were only “rotating”.

The president of the OAC, Faustin Archange Touadera, who wants to be a presidential candidate for the third time, decided in a referendum on the constitutional amendment on July 30. (AA)
