UAV panic in Moscow… Air defense systems alarmed
Russia announced this morning that the capital Moscow was attacked by drones.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin blamed Ukraine, saying the drones were destroyed by air defense systems. Sobyanin stated that there were no injuries in the drone strikes and that emergency response teams increased measures in the Novaya Moskva region.
Flights at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport have been suspended for a while.
The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that a total of 5 UAVs were destroyed.
In early May in Moscow, the drone attack on the Kremlin, targeting President Vladimir Putin, made a big impression. While Ukraine denies being behind the attack, the recent surge in drone attacks on Russian cities on the Ukrainian border is causing fear.
