Speaking to the Ankara Greek daily, Erdogan also addressed Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis, who is preparing for elections.

“We must put aside our hostilities and rivalries with Greece, because they have hurt both countries. I hope that the elections in Greece and Turkey will be the beginning of a new era.”

When asked by the Greek journalist: “Do you have a message for Mitsotakis”, Erdogan gave a remarkable answer. “Mitsotakis should take note of my words and keep his promises,” Erdogan said. Expressing that he believes he will emerge victorious from the elections, Erdogan said: “You can see the passion of the people in the demonstrations in the squares where huge crowds turn out.”

Erdogan also stated that the elections will end in the first round.
