500 days underground: ‘I never wanted to come out’

Beatriz Flamini, who lived in a 70 meter deep cave in Spain for 500 days without contact with the outside world, finally surfaced.

Flamini, a 50-year-old extreme athlete who retreated to the underground cave to experience Granada on November 20, 2021 and completely cut off his connection with the outside world, told how he spent time in the cave.

EXPERIMENT FOLLOWED BY SCIENTISTS

Flamini broke the record for the longest time spent in a cave without going out. The athlete’s experiment was also closely followed by scientists working on the human mind and daily rhythm.

Flamini, who celebrated two birthdays after entering the cave, began his experiment when the covid pandemic closed millions of people to their homes. Flamini, who was unaware of important events such as the outbreak of the Ukrainian war and the death of Queen Elizabeth II of England, went up the stairs today wearing black glasses.

Calling his experience “perfect and unique”, the athlete said he did not understand how time flies. Noting that he never thought to press the emergency button and call for help, Flamini said: “Actually, I didn’t want to go out. “I couldn’t finish my book,” he said.

Flamini said that she spent her days in the cave playing sports, reading books, painting and knitting.

Flamini said that he had a bad time when the flies invaded the cave, but he listened to the silence and talked to him. It’s normal to be afraid, but you shouldn’t let it get you down.”

Flamini, who will be examined by doctors, also stated that his greatest wish is to take a shower and meet his friends.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Chilean and Bolivian miners were stranded several meters deep for 69 days after a mine collapse in 2010.
