According to Yonhap News, the statement made by the Ministry of Unification, “North Korea, after failing to respond to the opening call at 09:00 in the morning, did not respond to the closing call made at 5: 00 pm via the joint hotline.” The South Korean military reported that the North did not respond to two regular daily calls made through its military communications channel.
It was noted that the government is trying to find the reason for the lack of response from the North, including the possibility of technical failures.
