The UN response to ‘female personnel’ against the Taliban

On the other hand, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), in a message shared on its social media account, stated that the Afghan female personnel affiliated with the UN were prevented from going to work in the Afghan province of Nangarhar and said: “We would like to remind the authorities that the UN cannot work without female staff and cannot provide vital assistance.” statements were included.

THE PROHIBITIONS OF THE TALIBAN

Following the decision to suspend the education of female students, the Taliban suspended the employment of female staff in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on December 24, 2022 until further notice. It was noted that the licenses of NGOs that did not dismiss female staff would be revoked.

Immediately afterwards, some international aid organizations in the country such as Save The Children, the Norwegian Refugee Council and CARE stopped their work.
