Biden declined to comment on Trump’s impeachment trial
US President Biden answered questions from reporters at the White House before his visit to Mississippi. Regarding the arrest of Evan Gershkovic, who worked as a reporter in the Moscow bureau of The Wall Street Journal, Biden called on Russia to release the journalist.
“Are you going to deport Russian diplomats or journalists?” When asked, Biden said that he has no such plans at the moment.
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre answered questions from reporters on the plane they were traveling on for Biden’s visit.
Stating that Biden learned of Trump’s impeachment from the news “just like other Americans, he learned from the news,” Jean-Pierre reiterated that the White House would not comment further on the impeachment against Trump.
