Putin approved… New concept of Russia’s foreign policy
Russian President Vladimir Putin reported that his country signed the decree approving the updated Foreign Policy Concept.
According to a written statement from the Kremlin Palace, Putin met with members of the Russian Security Council. In his intervention at the press conference, Putin stated that there have been radical changes in the international arena and that these have allowed the revision of strategic planning documents.
In this context, sharing the information that Russia has updated the Foreign Policy Concept, Putin said: “Today I signed a decree approving the updated Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation.” Putin continued:
“This concept will be a solid doctrinal foundation for our future work in international relations. I ask my colleagues involved in the implementation of foreign policy to attach importance to expanding relations with our constructive partners and creating the necessary conditions for hostile states to abandon their hostile policy towards our country. In planning our future actions, it is important to take into account the factors and trends in the development of international relations, work to strengthen Russia’s sovereignty, increase the role of our country in shaping a just and multipolar world order for solve problems in the world.
‘INTERNATIONAL TENSION IS AT AN UNRIVALED LEVEL’
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who attended the meeting, also claimed that changing geopolitical realities were reflected in the updated Foreign Policy Concept, saying: “Here, it is stated that international tension has been at a level unprecedented in the last 10 years. . It is emphasized that the actions of hostile states represent threats to the security and development of our country. It is claimed that the US is the country that started and developed its line against Russia.”
Lavrov stated that the policy of Western countries to weaken Russia is called “hybrid warfare” and that a symmetrical and asymmetrical response to hostile actions against Russia is expected. (AA)
