Tornado disaster hit the US

It was reported that 14 people died, according to the first determinations, due to the tornado and strong electrical storms that hit the US state of Mississippi.

Local and federal officials said 14 people were killed in Mississippi due to the devastating tornado, ABC News reported. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), which has issued a series of tornado warnings in counties across the state, said search and rescue operations are continuing in Sharkey and Humphreys counties.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves shared on Twitter that medical support for those affected by the tornado has been activated, ambulances and other emergency vehicles increased, and said search and rescue activities are active.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported tornado reports in Silver City and Rolling Fork around 8:50 p.m. local time, while authorities indicated the tornado was heading northwest of Tchula.

It is feared that the death toll will rise. (AA)
