Life will stop in Germany on Monday
In Germany, eyes are fixed on Monday of next week… Verdi, the public transport workers’ union, and EVG, the railway union, decided to go on a general strike on Monday.
Especially at the airports in Frankfurt and Munich, flights are completely cancelled. There will no longer be normal passenger traffic in these cities on Sunday and Monday. Vehicle traffic is expected to intensify, especially on Monday, as public transport stops and sectors that provide transport services join the strike.
EXCESS INFLATION
The Verdi union, claiming that there is 6.9 percent inflation in the country, wants an increase of about 10.5 percent. Verdi, who decided to strike on behalf of 2.5 million people in this sector, also demands a monthly surcharge of at least 500 euros.
The railway union, for its part, has set the increase rate it demands at 12 percent, and also demands an additional 650 euros per month for its 180,000 employees.
