US House Speaker Rejects Zelensky’s Invitation
Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, declined the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
McCarthy, who was invited by Zelensky to see what is happening in the country, told CNN that he did not need to go to Ukraine to decide whether to implement a “blank check policy” for aid to this country.
Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy invited McCarthy to Ukraine to see what is happening in the country, arguing that he supports Ukraine but there should be no “blank check policy” in Ukraine. Zelenskiy said: “I don’t think McCarthy ever visited kyiv or the Ukraine. I think this (McCarthy’s visit to Ukraine) will help his position.” (AA)
