Surprising finding on the Havana Syndrome

Clear US statement on the mysterious Havana Syndrome

A notable statement came from the US authorities regarding the Havana Syndrome, which has created a great mystery in the international public.

According to information provided to CNN and the Washington Post by officials familiar with the new intelligence assessment on this issue, it was noted that outside forces could not be associated with the Havana Syndrome cases.

In the intelligence assessment, it was stated that it was decided that the mysterious disease in question was unlikely to be the result of an operation led by an enemy of the United States.

The assessment, which is the result of reviewing hundreds of events and the wide variety of factors surrounding them, also noted that there is no convincing evidence that a foreign enemy possessed a weapon or device that could cause such mysterious illnesses.

On the other hand, it was underscored that the assessment did not provide definitive answers about the cause of the disease in question, noting that this could lead to further disappointment among those affected by the disease that the US government did not take the situation seriously enough.

In the news, it was also shared that approximately 1,500 similar cases have been reported so far in 96 different places in the US.

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) also reported in its report released on January 20, 2022 that it concluded that the Havana Syndrome was not a global campaign by a hostile power against US diplomats and spies. .

At the time, those who reacted to the report argued that the CIA’s findings could be considered an ad hoc assessment and were not coordinated with other intelligence agencies involved, such as the Department of Defense.

WHAT IS HAVANA SYNDROME?

The mysterious disease, named after Havana, the capital of Cuba, where it arose, was first observed in Canadian and American diplomats and their families who served in Cuba in 2016-2017.

Diplomatic staff and their families in the country had begun reporting symptoms that they described as dizziness, loss of balance and hearing, anxiety and “cognitive fog.” These people stated that they suddenly heard noises that those around them could not hear, and then they felt pressure and trembling.

In the spring of 2017, staff at the Canadian Embassy in Havana began having complaints such as dizziness and headaches caused by the mysterious ailment called “Havana Syndrome.”

21 employees of the US embassy in Cuba filed similar complaints, and the Washington administration withdrew most of its second-rate staff from the country in September 2017.

The Cuban government had announced that the mysterious accusations of sonic attack, allegedly exposed by the US diplomats stationed in the country, did not reflect the truth.

In subsequent years, similar cases were reported around the world, including at least 60 cases in Bogotá, Colombia, and Vienna, Austria. (AA)
