US lawmakers ask Biden to deliver F-16s to Ukraine

Seven more lawmakers signed the petition, which five House Democrats and Republicans wrote to Biden on February 16, calling for an F-16 fighter jet to be sent to Ukraine. The deputies demanded that Ukraine receive air defense support as soon as possible, including the supply of F-16s or similar fourth-generation fighter jets requested by the Kiev administration.

The deputies noted that some Ukrainian pilots trained with the US military in 2011 and after the 2018 invasion of Crimea, and there is a list of about 50 Ukrainian pilots who can receive the necessary training in three months and can speak English.

Indicating that they believe the delivery of fourth-generation warplanes to Ukraine represents a strategic investment, the lawmakers stressed that US leadership is vitally important in this regard.
