Greek Foreign Minister Dendias: We should not wait for another earthquake to fix our relationship
Greek Foreign Minister Dendias spoke to the AA correspondent in Hatay, which was affected by the earthquakes. Commenting on the earthquakes in the region as “totally devastating”, Dendias said that “Turkey and Greece should not wait for another earthquake to restore relations.” the said.
The Greek Minister Dendias went to Adana, which was affected by the earthquake. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu, for his part, valued as “important” the visit of the Greek Foreign Minister, who intends to show his solidarity with Turkey despite the tension between the two countries.
In his speech, ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu said: “There may be problems between countries. We have some unresolved issues with Greece for a while. Sometimes we see tensions, but we have always been two countries united in difficult times.” he used his statements.
The earthquakes affected nine other provinces, including Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa, in addition to Kahramanmaraş.
Many countries in the region, including Syria and Lebanon, also felt the earthquakes that were effective in Turkey.
More than 3,000 people are said to have lost their lives in the quake in the northern Syrian provinces of Idlib, Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Raqqa. (AA)
