From the Greek artist to Turkey: friends come both day and night
In Greece, which sent air aid after the earthquake disaster in Turkey, the media attention was excellent. The cartoonists gave rise to the recent tension between Turkey and Greece with their lines and speeches.
The Topontiki Newspaper highlighted the friendship of the peoples of the two countries in the work drawn by cartoonist Soloup, published today. Soloup used the expressions “Friends come both day and night” in the cartoon he drew. Along with the cartoon, in which the Greek search and rescue officer depicted in the cartoon and the person holding his hand under the rubble are called “Friends”, the phrase “Solidarity” appeared in four languages.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech threatening Greece after the tension in the Aegean, said: “Occupying the islands does not bind us. When the time comes, we’ll do whatever it takes. You know, we can come suddenly one night, ”he said.
