The sentence of the policeman who raped many women in the United Kingdom for 17 years is announced
The case was brought against Carrick, who was fired from public service for misconduct after he confessed in January that he had raped many women over 17 years.
Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb said the former police officer did monstrous feats of women in public under the guise of integrity and credibility.
Cheema-Grubb said: “You blatantly raped and attempted to rape many women, some of them brutally and pretending you were untouchable. You were bold and sometimes ruthless, trusting that the victims couldn’t get over their shame and fear and complain about you. You were right for almost 20 years, but now these 12 women have come forward and your colleagues have exposed you and ended up acting on their evidence.” she used the phrases.
Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb said Carrick attempted suicide in a maximum security prison in London.
Carrick, who previously served as a bodyguard for lawmakers and diplomats, was sentenced to life in prison for rape and attempted rape.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On January 16, David Carrick pleaded guilty to 49 counts, including assault, attempted rape and wrongful arrest, 24 of which were rape, over 17 years.
Carrick, 48, was dismissed from the civil service at a hearing on January 17 for misconduct at work.
Law enforcement sources stated that Carrick met some of the women through online dating sites or at social events and used her post to gain their trust.
Protecting lawmakers and diplomats, Carrick was arrested on October 2, 2021 and suspended by the Metropolitan Police the same day. (AA)
