Pakistani mosque attack kills 83
The death toll in the bombing of a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, has risen to 83. The number of injuries has been announced at 150.
The Pakistan State Television Corporation (PTV) announced that 83 people were killed in a bomb attack during midday prayers in the city of Peshawar yesterday. 150 people were injured in the attack. Concern was expressed about the increased loss of life.
‘THE SIZE OF THE TRAGEDY CANNOT BE IMAGINED’
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, went to the city yesterday after the attack. Sharif, in a statement on his social media account, said: “I have just returned from Peshawar. The scale of the humanitarian tragedy is unimaginable. The people are in deep pain. I have no doubt that terrorism is our main national security problem. While the pain of bereaved families cannot be described in words, I express my deepest condolences and heartfelt feelings. “My message to the perpetrators of this vile incident is that you cannot underestimate the determination of our people,” he said.
