Moroccan, who killed a priest in Spain, was arrested for “terrorism”

Kanjaa, the suspect in the Algeciras attacks, appears before the National Court of Madrid after 5 days, the longest detention period in Spain.

The judge of the Court, Joaquín Gadea, ruled that Kanjaa, 25, should be arrested without bail on charges of “murder and injury for terrorist purposes”, as requested by the prosecution, and sent to prison.

HE WAS ALSO AGAINST SECULARISM

According to information provided by the EFE agency, citing judicial sources, Judge Gadea concluded that the available evidence showed that the attack by the Moroccan citizen Kanjaa “was against both priests who profess the faith of the Catholic Church and those who are laymen despite be muslims”.

Judicial sources did not share information about Kanjaa’s statement because it was “confidential”.

It was revealed that 25-year-old Kanjaa, who attacked two churches in Algeciras and hacked to death a priest and injured 4 people, entered Spain as an irregular immigrant in 2019 and was awaiting deportation. (AA)
