Turkey reacted to the action held in Sweden
The Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the demonstration organized by PKK-affiliated groups in Sweden. The statement reacted to the “action held just after the despicable attack on the Quran was allowed in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.”
“This time, we condemn in the strongest terms the permission to carry out a propaganda action against the country by groups affiliated with the PKK terrorist organization in the city center.” In the statement in which the expressions were used, it was stressed that this action was a clear violation of the commitment of the Tripartite Testament, to which Sweden is also a signatory, to prevent the propaganda of terrorist organizations.
The statement noted:
“Saying that we are bound by the commitments of the Trinity Testament and fulfilling these commitments are two separate matters. We emphasize once again that we expect Sweden to take concrete and effective steps beyond rhetoric, especially in the field of the fight against terrorism, in accordance with its commitments in the Tripartite Testament.”
Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the far-right Danish Strict Directorate Party (Stram Kurs), organized a Quran burning action near the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.
Later, sympathizers of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization gathered in the Norra Bantorget square in the capital, Stockholm, and demanded the cancellation of the agreement that Sweden made with Turkey during the NATO accession process.
