Helicopters collide in the air, 4 people die

4 people died and 9 people were injured, 3 seriously, as a result of the collision of two helicopters in the Australian state of Queensland.

According to the Australian press report, Queensland Police Officer Gary Worrell announced that two helicopters collided in mid-air at 1:59 p.m. local time on Main Beach in the state city of Gold Coast.

Worrell said 4 people were killed in the accident and 9 people were injured, 3 seriously.
In the statement from Queensland officials, it was claimed that the accident occurred near the Seaworld theme park.

The statement said that all those killed and seriously injured in the accident came from the same helicopter. In the statement, in which it was recorded that medical personnel and firefighters were sent to the scene, it was reported that the helicopter involved in the accident and with the Seaworld logo landed successfully.

The statement advised drivers and pedestrians to stay away from the area.

The Australian Transport Safety Office announced that an investigation into the accident has been launched. (AA)
