Prison sentence for man accused of conspiring to kidnap US governor
Croft, the 47-year-old trucker who was alleged to have “fathered the idea” of a far-right group planning to kidnap Governor Whitmer in 2020, was sentenced to 19 years and 7 months in prison at today’s hearing.
Considered the “spiritual leader” of the group that masterminded the conspiracy, Croft was found guilty of planning the kidnapping of Governor Whitmer and possessing an explosive device without a license.
Thus, Croft was registered as the person who received the most prison sentences among those convicted of the case in question.
Many people were detained in the US for allegedly planning to kidnap Michigan’s Democratic Governor Whitmer in 2020. Three more people had been sentenced to prison terms in cases that had been on and off since January 2021.
The American public characterizes these action plans against some local administrators as “domestic terrorism.” (AA)
