Sanctions on religious organizations by Zelensky
In the statement on the official website of the Ukrainian Presidency, it was stated that Zelensky approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, which provides for personal and financial sanctions against Russian-influenced religious organizations in Ukraine.
According to the decision included in the statement, the government was instructed to draft a law prohibiting religious organizations under the influence of religious organizations in the Russian Federation from operating in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Thought will also examine whether the charter of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is linked to the Moscow Patriarchate.
The security units of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police will speed up the work of detecting the activities of Russian special services in the religious environment of Ukraine and will be able to impose restrictive personal and other sanctions when necessary. (AA)
