Osama bin Laden’s son describes what it was like to live with al-Qaeda
Omar bin Laden, 41, was the fourth eldest son and heir to the al-Qaeda leader. Omar says he had a “sad childhood” in which he witnessed chemical weapons tests by his father’s followers on his beloved pets and learned to shoot AK47s at a young age.
According to the Daily Star report, Omar says he had to live his whole life moving from one region to another and could not settle down. “I think I am one of my father’s victims,” says Omar.

“I DISAPPOINTED HER”
Omar, who was elected at age 15 to carry on his father’s legacy, “My father never asked me to join al-Qaeda, but he said that I was the chosen son to keep things going. He was also disappointed when I told him that he was not fit for that life.”
Omar has long been critical of his father’s actions, and before the famous attacks on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, he decided to leave his father and al-Qaeda behind.

HE WAS CONTINUOUSLY JUDGED BY HIS NAME
After leaving al Qaeda, Omar never spoke to his jihadist father, who was assassinated in 2011, again.
“I don’t know what they did to him. They said they dumped his body in the ocean, but I don’t believe it.” To Omar, who said“No matter what, family will always be family,” she says when asked if she still loves her brother.
Omar said he did not get a chance to see his father’s body after bin Laden’s death. Saying that he believes things will get better after leaving Al Qaeda, Omar still says: “bin Laden,” he saw people judge him.
AN INTERNATIONAL ARTIST
Saying that he is currently trying to survive and sometimes needs to take medication due to the traumas he has been through, Omar is quite adopted a different lifestyle.
Today an internationally renowned artist, Omar sells his Afghan landscape paintings around the world for prices of up to £8500 each.
Omar is married to Zaina bin Laden. now lives in Normandy, France. The couple likes to watch westerns together, including “Shrek” and Clint Eastwood.
