The eyes of employees on the rise in the minimum wage

What will be the minimum wage? Minimum wage negotiations begin…

The rise in the minimum wage draws attention as a factor that will determine the salary of all employees in the new year. The increase in the minimum wage is determined by a 15-member commission made up of 5 each representing the worker, the employer and the government. The assembly, which will determine the calendar of the minimum wage assemblies, will be held on Thursday, December 1.

HOW MUCH WILL THE MINIMUM FEE BE?

The official meetings of the commission will begin in early December.

The first information that SÖZCÜ received from the parties shows that the minimum wage negotiation will be in the range of 7,500-8,000 TL.

It became known that Türk-İş made the main decision not to pronounce numbers in any way until the last moment, both at tomorrow’s meeting and at the official meetings of the commission. However, on the Turk-Is front, power accumulates to the tune of more than 8 thousand lire.

Speaking to SÖZCÜ, a union president said: “Such numbers have been flying for months that the worker took 8 thousand lira and put it in his pocket. He now he is waiting for what can be taken ”.

On the business side, although no specific figures are expressed, a rate such as ‘inflation + 10 points’ is warmly considered.

EMPLOYERS AND EMPLOYERS HAVE THESE IN THE BAG

At this first informal meeting of the minimum wage, which had to be raised twice this year due to high inflation, the parties have various bargaining materials on the exchange. The workers side has high inflation, harsh living conditions and the upcoming elections as the most important bargaining power in their stock market. The employers, on the other hand, keep in their bag the risks of layoffs caused by high increases, unregistered employment and a new wave of increases that will be reflected in the bazaar market. The government will weigh both suitcases and give direction to the final decision.

WHEN WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE BE DEFINED?

The Minimum Wage Commission will begin its work in December to determine the minimum wage for 2023. After three meetings to be held, the 2023 minimum wage will be determined.
