Panamanian soccer player Gilberto Hernández died as a result of a shot.
According to the country’s press, the gunmen, who took the taxi driver hostage and got out of the vehicle in front of a building in Colón, Panama, opened fire on a group that included Hernández.
In addition to Hernández, 26, who lost his life as a result of the attack, 7 people were injured. The perpetrators fled.
The reason for the attack on Hernández in the city of Colón, where there have been numerous conflicts between drug cartels in recent months, has not yet been clarified. In the city of 40,000 people, more than 50 people have died this year in inter-cartel wars.
