Matheus Nunes has signed for Manchester City!
Manchester City have signed Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes for £53m.
The 25-year-old’s transfer to City was a club-record sale for Wolves, who will receive a sale fee of 10 per cent of any future earnings City make from Nunes.
The former Sporting man is City’s fourth signing after Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic and Jeremy Doku, taking the champion trio’s spending to £216.1m.
City searched for a creative midfielder after Kevin De Bruyne was sidelined for several months with a hamstring injury in the season opener against Burnley.

WOLVES TRANSFERRED AT RECORD PRICE
Nunes showed his quality last season by scoring a magnificent goal against Chelsea, but it remains his only goal for the club in 41 appearances.
Wolves signed a club record £42.2m contract with Nunes last summer, paying £38m plus a further £4.2m.
“Matheus Nunes is one of the best players in the world today.” Pep Guardiola’s comment came after Manchester City’s victory against Sporting in the first leg of the Champions League qualifying round last February. He is a long time fan.
ONLY GOAL, THE GOAL OF THE SEASON
Nunes joined Wolves for £38m at the end of that season and continued to show signs of the quality Guardiola saw in him. His shot from the corner against Chelsea in April was named Premier League goal of the season.
