Faith Kipyegon failed again
The fourth day of the XIX World Athletics Championships held in Hungary has come to an end.
On the fourth day of the organization held in Budapest, the women’s 100m hurdles qualifiers, the 400m hurdles semifinals, the discus throw and the 1500m final, the men’s 800m qualifiers, the 400m semifinals m, the high jump test and the finals of 3,000 meters with hurdles.
In the women’s 1500 meters, Kenyan Faith Kipyegon was proclaimed champion with a time of 3.54.87. Laulauga Tausaga of the USA won the gold medal in the women’s discus throw with a time of 69.49, the best time of her career. In the same discipline, Valarie Allman of the USA won silver with a time of 69.23, and the last world champion, Bin Feng of China, took bronze with a time of 68.20.
THE MEN’S CHAMPION HAS NOT CHANGED IN THE 3,000 METERS
Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco, the last world and Olympic champion in the men’s 3,000 meters, won the gold medal with a time of 8.03.53. In the same discipline, Lamecha Gırma from Ethiopia came in second with 8.05.44 and Abraham Kibiwot from Kenya was third with 8.11.98.
A SERIES ENDED IN HIGH JUMP
In the men’s high jump, the Italian Gianmarco Tamberi was proclaimed champion by achieving the best time of the year in the world with 2.36. American JuVaughn Harrison won the silver medal in the same time (2.36), while Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim, who was world champion three times in a row, took the bronze medal in 2.33.
FIVE NATIONAL ATHLETES WILL COMPETE TOMORROW
Tomorrow, one of the national athletes, Ersu Şaşma will compete in pole vault, Eda Tuğsuz in javelin throw, Ramil Guliyev in 200 meters, Tuğba Danışmanz in triple jump and Tuğba Güvenç in 3,000 meters hurdles. (AA)
