Lionel Messi leads Inter Miami to the final

In the 2023 Leagues Cup organized by the North, Central American and Caribbean Football Confederation (CONCACAF), Inter Miami beat Philadelphia Union 4-1 to reach the final.

After the transfer of Argentine star Lionel Messi, Inter Miami left the league and faced Philadelphia Union in the semifinals of the tournament at Subaru Park in Chester, United States. In the game that faced the representatives of the USA, Inter Miami defeated their rival 4-1 with goals from Josef Martínez in minute 3, Lionel Messi in minute 20, Jordi Alba in minute 45+3 and David Ruiz in minute 84. Alejandro Bedoya scored the Philadelphia Union goal in the 73rd minute.

Messi, 36, who aired the nets in 6 games at Inter Miami, increased the number of goals to 9. In addition, Inter Miami continued its undefeated streak in the matches played by the Argentine soccer player.

In the other semifinal match, the US team from Nashville, which defeated the Mexican team from Monterrey 2-0, became Inter Miami’s last rival. (AA)
