Ranking of points by country: We climbed 1 place with the victory of Galatasaray
The country point ranking is used to determine how many of our teams will participate in the European Cups in the coming years and in which tournament they will compete. Turkey, which was one of the 10 countries that scored the most points in the European Cups last year, fell back to 20th place due to the low scores it obtained in recent years, but thanks to the performance shown in the last period, it was not a chance to send two teams to the Champions League again.
GALATASARAY WIN INCREASES 1 RANK
After Galatasaray defeated Olimpija Ljubljana 3-0 in the first match of the Champions League 3rd qualifying round, we moved up one place in the UEFA country points ranking.
Each victory, draw and rounds of our representatives Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, BeÅŸiktaÅŸ and Adana Demirspor will increase our country’s score. With the victory of the yellow-red people, Türkiye rose from 12th to 11th place.
Reaching 28,600 points, Turkey overtook Switzerland, who had 28,475 points and where only 4 of the 5 teams continued on their way. If our 4 representatives successfully make it through the qualifying rounds and stay in the groups, our chances of making the top 10 will increase considerably.
LAST STATE IN RANKING
- 9- Scotland: 30,650
- 10- Austria: 29,000
- eleven- Türkiye: 28,600
- 12- Switzerland: 28,475
- 13- Serbia: 27,175
- 14: Ukraine: 25,000
HOW ARE TWO TEAMS GOING TO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?
Points earned in the country point ranking are beneficial two years later, not the following year. Thanks to the successful performance shown in Europe in the 2022-2023 season, we will be in Europe again in 2024-2025 with 5 teams. Two of the five teams will advance to the Champions League, while both teams will start in the qualifying phase.
Turkey will send 2 teams to the Champions League, 1 team to the Europa League and 2 teams to the Conference League in the 2025-26 season if it enters the top 10 country rankings this year. 1 of the 2 teams sent to the Champions League will start directly in the group stage.
