Former stars from the world of soccer took to the stage at the “Tournament of Legendary Champions” ahead of the UEFA Champions League final to be played between Manchester City and Inter in Istanbul tomorrow.

Former Portuguese national team players Luis Figo and Vitor Baia, who participated in the tournament, made statements to the press during the tournament at the UEFA Champions Festival held at Yenikapi Festival Park.

Stating that he is happy to be in Istanbul, Figo said: “It is an honor to participate in a tournament of this kind in front of the biggest club organization in the world. I don’t have a favorite team in the Champions League final. Because we know that football is not a favorite and you win with performance on the field. But of course, since I played at Inter, I hope they come out of the final with a good result, ”he said.

Asked if he follows Spor Toto Süper Lig, Figo said: “I follow the results, but I don’t have the opportunity to watch the games. Congratulations to Galatasaray for the championship. I am also happy for my friend Jorge Jesus, the Fenerbahçe coach. He did a great job his first year. I also congratulate Okan Buruk for winning the championship. He should be happy. I hope his success continues.”

Noting that former Portuguese goalkeeper Vitor Baia, Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan and Inter Milan’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu are quality footballers, “Ilkay and Hakan are great players. Everyone knows them. They can be decisive for your team at any time. “Both are dangerous on goal trajectories because they have excellent shots from outside the penalty area. Both could be Champions League champions. Both have this quality,” he said.
