Leipzig increases Champions League options
In the German First Football League (Bundsliga), Leipzig beat Freiburg 1-0 away, increasing their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Leipzig, who was Freiburg’s guest at the Europa-Park Stadium on matchday 31 of the Bundesliga, won the match 1-0 with Kevin Kampl’s goal in the 73rd minute. With this victory, Leipzig increased their score to 57 and rose to third place, increasing their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Freiburg, on the other hand, held on to 56 points, falling to fifth place after Union Berlin on the same points.
In today’s Bundesliga matches, Hoffenheim beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1, Borussia Mönchengladbach beat Bochum 2-0, Hertha Berlin beat Stuttgart 2-1 and Augsburg beat Union Berlin 1-0. (AA)
