Iftar organization of Feyenoord, the Orkun Kökçü team
The national player Orkun Kökçü, who plays for Feyenoord, one of the Dutch Eredivisie teams, attended an iftar dinner with around 100 Rotterdam citizens at De Kuip, the stadium of the Dutch team.
Orkun Kökçü, who plays for Dutch Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord Rotterdam, organized an iftar organization with his Muslim friends on the team, Moroccan Oussama Idrissi and Moroccan-Dutch Mohamed Taabouni. About 100 Rotterdam citizens hosted the dinner, which was held at De Kuip, the stadium of the Dutch national team, and the club also supported the organization.
“CLUB ADOPT IMMEDIATELY”
Speaking to the Dutch team’s official website, Orkun Kökçü said: “The idea came to Oussama and Mohamed two weeks ago. The club accepted him immediately and adapted very quickly. It all looks great,” he said.
In a statement, the Dutch team indicated that before the iftar dinner, a tour of the stadium was held with the guests and that they celebrated the upcoming Ramadan Festival.
FEYENOORD IFTAR MENU
While most of the visitors were families living near the club and stadium, Feyenoord’s iftar menu included lentil soup, chicken stew with rice and vegetables and baklava for dessert.
Faouzi Achbar, a member of the city council, who was among the participants in the iftar organization, thanked the footballers for organizing such an organization.
