Steffi Graf’s shared record

Novak Djokovic shares Steffi Graf’s record

The Association of Professional Tennis (ATP) announced the classification of the new week in men. Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, who won 2 singles tournaments this season, including the Australian Open, continued to lead with 7,070 points, ahead of Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (6,480).

Sharing the record for the male tennis player who won the most Grand Slam tournaments with 22 championships with Rafael Nadal, Djokovic increased the number of weeks he spent at the top of the world rankings to 377. Thus, the 35-year-old Djokovic broke the Steffi Graf’s record, who was at the top of the women’s world ranking for 377 weeks between the years 1982-1999 when she played tennis.

Graf and Djokovic are followed by Martina Navratilova (332 weeks), Serena Williams (319), Roger Federer (310) in the list of tennis players who have held the world number 1 title for the longest time.

The men’s world ranking has been determined by the ATP since 1973, and the women’s world ranking since 1975 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). (AA)
