Lionel Messi is in Argentina with the World Cup!
Lionel Messi and the Argentine National Team have landed in Buenos Aires after their impressive victory in the World Cup. Thousands of fans at the Ezeiza International Airport did not leave the footballers they saw as ‘heroes’ alone.
After beating France on penalties, Argentina managed to win the World Cup 36 years later and added the third star to their shield in the match, which ended with a 2-2 draw in regulation time and a 3-3 draw after extra time. After the historic victory, the Argentine convoy arrived in Argentina at first light this Tuesday morning after a 21-hour flight.

Messi, who scored twice in the World Cup final at the Stade Lusais and finished the tournament with 7 goals, capped his sensational career with the World Cup. Unable to hold back the tears after the penalty shootout of Gonzalo Montiel’s victory, Scaloni hugged Messi as he got off the plane.
