The longtime employees and co-founders of Artists Equity fired back at the former president

who extracted audio from the film in a recent ad for his 2024 presidential bid. In a statement shared to The Times on Monday, the production company condemned the recently indicted president for not seeking permission to use parts of “Air” .
We had no prior knowledge of, consent to, and do not endorse or approve of any footage or audio of “Air” being repurposed by the Trump campaign as a political ad or for any other use, Artists Equity said.

The statement continued: Specifically in terms of all rights available to us under United States copyright and intellectual property law, we hereby expressly give notice that in the event of any use of any material from “Air” by the Trump campaign where approval or permission is required, we do not grant such permission.
The campaign ad in question was shared on Trump’s Truth Social account on Friday.
