According to GroenLinks leader Jesse Klaver, the cabinet has already “de facto” fallen. He said it in his speech today during the debate on the electoral results of the Provincial Council. “The CDA is becoming increasingly isolated.”
Klaver argued, inter alia, that the CDA – contrary to D66 and VVD – distanced itself from the coalition agreement and that “it is increasingly getting the impression that people witnessed the fall of the government on Friday and that the protagonists continue to deny it.’
Political journalist Leendert Beekman agrees, “until one side compromises,” he says. «And we know that the CDA can no longer do it. So he’s looking at D66, ChristenUnie and the VVD. And especially the first.’
Harsh statements
But Beekman points out that D66 spoke strongly today about the possibilities surrounding the 2030 year renegotiation. “The possibilities are almost non-existent,” he says.

Paternò note
D66 leader Jan Paternotte claims the same thing. He says it is not an option for D66 to let things fall apart considering that it is no longer possible to build and there are enough problems in the country. “And that’s my assessment too,” says Van Leeuwen.
Beekman also addresses the issue of credibility, because this debate can play an important role in that. “Everything that’s being said in this debate will be presented to them the moment they start shooting,” warns Beekman. “This is the debate about the election results and the credibility of the policy.”
