Minister Franc Weerwind (Legal Protection) regrets that he acted incorrectly as mayor of the municipality of Almere when he used his official car for private trips.
He says this on his LinkedIn page after reporting from Omroep Flevoland. He reports that, according to interim mayor Ank Bijleveld, Weerwind has been using his official car for private trips for five years, while this is not permitted.
Unofficial ancillary positions
The trips took place from 2017 to 2021. In those years the official car was also used for work Weerwind carried out for other organizations such as the Fietsersbond and the Stichting Het Vergeten Kind. The official car may also not be used for so-called unofficial accessory positions.
