Producer inflation in agriculture was 62.56 percent in October
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products (Agriculture-PPI) for October 2023.
Consequently, in October 2023, there will be a decrease of 1.13 percent in the Agriculture PPI compared to the previous month, an increase of 44.93 percent compared to December of the previous year, an increase of 62, 56 percent compared to the same month last year and a decrease of 1.13 percent compared to twelve-month averages. There was an increase of 85.35 percent compared to the twelve-month averages.
Compared to the previous month, there was a 1.31 percent decrease in agricultural and hunting products and related services, a 1.56 percent increase in forestry products and related services and a 3.64 percent increase in percent in fish and other fishery products.
In the main groups, there was a 4.32 percent decrease in annual plant products, a 1.62 percent decrease in perennial plant products and a 3.11 percent increase in live animals and animal products in compared to the previous month.
THE GREATEST INCREASE IS FOUND IN OILY FRUITS
The subgroups with the lowest annual increase were fibrous plants with 13.71 percent and cereals (except rice), legumes and oilseeds with 21.20 percent, respectively.
For their part, the subgroups with the highest annual increase were oilseed fruits with 168.05 percent and grapes with 164.52 percent, respectively.
The only subgroup that showed a decrease compared to the same month of the previous year was citrus with 19.08 percent.
The subgroups with the greatest decrease compared to the previous month were vegetables, melons, roots and tubers with 8.04 percent, and pome fruits and stone fruits with 6.66 percent.
PRICE INCREASED ON 44 OF 92 ITEMS
The subgroups with the greatest increase compared to the previous month were other fruits of trees and shrubs and nuts with 65.28 percent and oilseed fruits with 35.65 percent.
In October 2023, of the 92 items included in the index, there was a decrease in the average price of 35 items and an increase in the average price of 44 items.
