Earthquake in Turkcell senior management
Turkcell today made a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) regarding the organizational change at the company.
In Turkcell’s statement it was indicated that the Deputy General Director of Corporate and Home Sales, the Deputy General Director of Retail Sales, the Deputy General Director of Marketing, the Deputy General Director of Digital Services and Solutions, the Deputy General Director of Strategy and the Deputy General Director of Digital Transformation was eliminated and the corresponding deputy general manager was dismissed, who reportedly resigned from his duties.
NEWLY ESTABLISHED UNITS AND NAMED NAMES ANNOUNCED
The rest of Turkcell’s statement included the newly created units and the names assigned to the units. The following information was included in the continuation of the statement:
* “The deputy general manager of sales was created and Kadri Özdal was appointed deputy general manager.
* The Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Digital Services was created and Murat Akgüç was appointed as Deputy General Manager.
* Erkan Durdu, who currently serves as Deputy General Director of Human Resources in our Company, was appointed Deputy General Director Responsible for Supply Chain, instead of the current Deputy General Director.
* Vehbi Çağrı Güngör was appointed deputy general manager responsible for network technologies, replacing the current deputy general manager.
* Ali Uysal, who serves as Director of Corporate Legal Affairs in our Company, has been appointed Deputy General Manager Responsible for Legal Affairs and Regulation.”
THE GENERAL MANAGER WAS CHANGED IN 10 DAYS
Turkcell announced that Murat Erkan, who had served as CEO of Turkcell for four years, has resigned from his position effective September 11, 2023.
Bülent Aksu was appointed CEO in Erkan’s place on September 14; However, Aksu’s duty ended that same month. Aksu was able to remain in office for about 10 days.
Turkcell’s board of directors decided to appoint Ali Taha Koç, head of the Presidential Office of Digital Transformation, as general manager on October 13.
Koç is also known as the son of former AKP Culture and Tourism Minister Atilla Koç.
