Bloomberg: Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates are negotiating the railway project to the third bridge

According to the American financial agent Bloomberg, Turkey has begun discussing with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) the construction of a railway to the third bridge.

According to Turkish sources familiar with the matter, Abu Dhabi Investment Fund (ADQ) and Turkey are in talks to build a railway across the Bosphorus as part of the planned trade corridor connecting Europe with the Middle East and Asia.

The railway will pass over the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, also known as the Third Bridge, which cost $3 billion to build.

HIGH CALL TRAFFIC

According to information provided by the authorities to Bloomberg, there was heavy traffic on the Basra-Baghdad-Turkey-Europe railway project, for which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that joint work would begin with the United Arab Emirates. In this context, the technical commissions discussed the details of the Development Highway project.

ADQ, the Abu Dhabi-based fund that manages assets worth $160 billion, met with Turkey to implement the rail line in the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge project.

A UAE official said in a written statement to Bloomberg: “The UAE aims to increase cooperation with Turkey to increase its foreign trade volume to $40 billion by 2030. “This goal will be achieved by establishing new energy investment channels. , logistics, tourism, agriculture and more sectors,” he stated.

AN AGREEMENT OF 51 BILLION DOLLARS WAS MADE

In July, the United Arab Emirates pledged to invest $51 billion to support the Turkish economy.

After his election victory, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks to attract investments in the Gulf tour consisting of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and with the agreements reached as a result of these negotiations, the United Arab Emirates invested 51 billion dollars, 30 billion dollars. of which would be allocated to the energy sector.
