Istanbul September Surge Champion Has Been Announced
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products whose retail prices increased and decreased the most in Istanbul in September 2023.
In Istanbul, the product whose price increased the most in September compared to the previous month was laptops with 98.94 percent, while plums led the drop with 16.46 percent.
166 OF 242 PRODUCTS ARE INCREASE
Consequently, while the retail prices of 166 of the 242 products included in the ITO Istanbul Wage Earners’ Living Index increased, the prices of 15 products decreased and no change was observed for 61 products.
In September, compared to the previous month, the “Culture, Education and Entertainment Expenditure Group” notebook was the product whose price increased the most with 98.94 percent.
The notebook includes school backpacks with 94.72 percent, court and lawyer fees with 83.94 percent, school uniforms with 79.38 percent, course fees and private classes with 67.46 percent, tracksuits with 55.60 percent and 48.70 percent, followed by children’s shoes.
PRODUCTS WITH REDUCED PRICES
The product whose price decreased the most in September compared to the previous month was the plum, which is in the “Food Expenditure Subgroup of Fresh and Dried Vegetables and Fruits” with 16.46 percent.
The plum was followed by green pepper with 14.63 percent, green beans with 8.36 percent, onion with 7.08 percent, fresh grapes with 6.98 percent, towels with 5 percent and clothing with 4.76 percent. (AA)
