The tender was made but it has not been completed for 5 years… The cost of that road increased from 93 million to 517 million

A tender was held 5 years ago to improve the narrow and winding road in the Nazımiye district of Tunceli, the district where CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was born. The goal is to shorten and widen the road by removing curves from the road, which is only 12 km from the Tunceli-Erzincan highway, and building a viaduct. AND

THE ROAD THAT COST 93 MILLION BECOMES 517 MILLION

Cafer Kırmızıçiçek, Mayor of Nazımiye-Erzincan, stated that the separation work of the Nazımiye-Erzincan road, which began in 2018, was not carried out due to lack of funds, he said: “The 12-kilometer road between Nazımiye- Erzincan was put out to tender 5 years ago, but the road is not built every year because it is said ‘there are no funds’. However, that road was a refreshment for the Highway Department, but somehow that road was never finished and not even an inch of progress was made,” he said.

“Normally it was a 17-kilometer road from the district center to the Erzincan junction. “It is said that if it is not completed this year, it will be completed next year,” said Kırmızıçiçek, adding: “We informed our newly appointed governor about the situation of this road and demanded that it be completed. He also said that he would do everything possible to put an end to this road. “Due to the financing problem for 5 years, the works on that road have been abandoned after a month of works,” he said.

Noting that Nazımiye is the district of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Kırmızıçiçek continued as follows:

“I think it was intentional that our president’s district road was not built after so long. The initial cost of construction of this road was 93 million, now its cost is 517 million. We have places of faith in our district and hundreds of thousands of people visit these places throughout the year. As this road is in poor condition, it is very difficult for these visitors to reach the places of faith, and even fatal accidents occur because the curves are narrow. If there had not been an intentional situation here, this path would have already ended. “We will do everything possible to get this road built as soon as possible.”
