Black Sea gas still does not reach kitchens
CHP Vice President Ahmet Akın said: “The government deceived our citizens for its own political benefit before the elections. “Today, natural gas from the Black Sea is still not supplied to the system,” he said. Akın pointed out that 94.3 percent of natural gas supplied for residential consumption is imported and said:
FIRST MARCH, THEN AUGUSTSW
“10 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, 300 million cubic meters per month, had to be supplied to the system. Today, the amount of gas supplied through Filyos is zero. According to the latest official report in June 2023, the total amount of natural gas produced in Adıyaman, Çanakkale, Düzce, Edirne, Hatay, Istanbul, Kırklareli and Tekirdağ is 39 million 612 thousand cubic meters. Housing consumption alone in June was 687 million 680 thousand cubic meters. Therefore, our current production can cover 5.7 percent of current housing consumption.” Akın recalled the dates indicated for the gas to reach homes: “First they said: ‘It will be at your house in March 2023.’ Then they said, “We are going to commission the first phase in May 2023 and the second phase will be commissioned in September 2023.” Then they said: ‘National gas will be in the system in August 2023.’ “We are in September and today not a single cubic meter of Black Sea gas has been supplied to the system.”
