Ali Babacan: Erdogan still holds everyone but himself responsible
DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan made a statement on his social media account about the Medium Term Program (OVP), presented today by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and evaluated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“ERDOĞAN IS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE EXCEPT HIMSELF”
Babacan stated the following in his messages:
* “Today’s Medium Term Program (MTP) speech demonstrated that; Erdogan continues to blame everyone but himself for high inflation.
* Instead of making a sincere confession about the Protected Depository of Currency (KKM), which is a project to destroy the state, he defends the KKM with puns. Promising single-digit inflation by the end of this year, Erdogan predicts single-digit inflation only by the end of 2026, even on paper.
“THE BURDEN WILL RETURN TO ON THE NARROW AND FIXED INCOME”
* The PMP does not include any concrete measures that strengthen the independence of the Central Bank and increase transparency. There are no steps in the OVP regarding the taxation of annuity income. The burden will again fall on those with limited and fixed income.
* The OVP does not go beyond repeating abstract and general statements about structural measures that have been repeated up to now. In short, you can’t establish trust or achieve predictability with a program that doesn’t talk about mistakes, has little internal consistency, and contains abstract and general statements instead of concrete steps.
