KESK co-chair Şükran Kablan made a press release in front of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security after the negotiations of the Seventh Period Public Collective Agreement.

“THEY WERE EXPLAINED IN NONE”

* In the collective bargaining of the 7th Legislature 2024-2025, which millions of public workers and retirees await with enthusiasm and hope, the Government announced its first offer. By 2024, 14 percent in the first six months; a total of 23 percent, 9 percent in the second semester; 6 percent in the first six months to 2025; announced a 5 percent offer for the second six months.

* As KESK, we would like to clearly underline the following: With this proposal, this table has once again revealed itself as non-existent for public workers and retirees. It will never be possible for us to accept this offer, which is well below the target inflation rates announced by the Central Bank for 2024.

* As we prepared our proposal and shared it with the public, we understood that salary increases at the inflation rates targeted in the current inflationary environment mean a little more poverty and misery for public workers and retirees every day. We have repeatedly said that it makes no sense to declare inflation with TURKSTAT figures and make an increase with these unrealistic inflation rates.

“WE REQUEST A QUARTERLY INCREASE RATE OF THE POVERTY LINE”

* From this point of view, as KESK, we have repeatedly stressed that raising the wages of millions of public workers in the country above the poverty line should be done after the base salary increase in July was reflected in the negotiations. The economic offer that we find does not mean more than a little more poverty. Two thirds of retirees cannot benefit from the 25 percent pension increase made in July.

* As the minister announced at today’s table, the retirees were sentenced to death with a salary of 9 thousand lira, which is well below the hunger limit and the minimum salary of the lowest public pensioner. Once again, we would like to state our demand that regulation be made on the basis of the poverty line, not in the form of specific six-month brackets, but at the rate of increase of the three-month poverty line, and that millions of public workers and retirees have left this table today.

3600 ADDITIONAL INDICATOR MESSAGE

* In its current form, a table without a single sentence about our social rights is null and void for us. The regulation related to the 3600 additional indicators, which mainly condemns public workers to retirement in the grave, must be resolved as soon as possible at the table of the Collective Agreement of the Seventh Duration. One of the most fundamental problems that the Collective Bargaining Table of the 7th Legislature must solve is the regulation regarding the suppression of the interview, which is one of the promises of the Government in the electoral period, and the appointment by merits in the sector public. . We know very well that a collective agreement in which the rent, benefits for spouse and children are not in the conditions of the day, in these conditions in which the economic conditions are difficult, will not accept public workers and retirees.

* Based on all this, we told all citizens, emphasizing that our demands must be addressed, that this collective bargaining system be changed, in which the process that started badly for 6 periods has continued due to malfunction, and that a true democratic collective bargaining table defined by the strike should be proposed by all public workers and retirees. We are calling on those who bring us to accept this offer even though it has been said that we are signing our signature to all other confederations, unionized or not, working in the public sector, unionized or not for 6 terms: Come, let us be the true authority and true power of this table, and let us here speak our word. . As KESK, if our demands are not met, we will stop working for one day on August 16, using our production force until August 17, when the second offer will be submitted.
