Russians and Ukrainians started illegal photography in Antalya

The war between Russia and Ukraine, which started in February 2022 and is still going on, has seriously increased migration from these two countries to Antalya.

Many Russians and Ukrainians bought and rented houses in Antalya and settled in the city’s coastal areas like Konyaaltı, Lara, Kemer and Alanya with their residence permits.

The president of AESOB, Adlıhan Dere, evaluated the problems derived from these migrations and the evolution of merchants in the city, where foreign settlements, especially Russians and Ukrainians, have increased.

‘THE DIFFERENCE IN THE NUMBER OF TOURISTS AND HOTEL OCCUPANCY’

Dere, who commented on the daily, weekly and monthly rental of the houses they bought, such as unregistered apartments and hostels, said there was a big difference between the number of tourists entering Antalya from the airport and the number of tourists coming to Antalya. they stayed in hotels

Dere claimed that he lived in these houses bought by Russians and Ukrainians for 1 month and rented them out to tourists for 11 months of the year, and many tourists stayed in those houses.

“For Russians and Ukrainians to get citizenship in exchange for a $250,000 investment, houses that normally wouldn’t cost $100,000 were increased to $250,000. As a result, prices skyrocketed. Both the people of Antalya and the civil servants or employees of the private sector who work in Antalya no longer have the opportunity to buy a house.

Dere, who said that houses bought and rented by foreigners should be registered, said: “Now they are making unfair money by renting the house they bought to obtain citizenship informally.”

Dere stated that in the regions where Russians and Ukrainians are concentrated, even the administrators and officials of the site are Russian or Ukrainian, and that both housing prices and rents have increased significantly due to the Russians and Ukrainians.

THEY HAVE ALSO STARTED THE ILLEGAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Pointing out that Russian and Ukrainian immigration has increased mobility in Antalya, especially in 2 sectors, Dere said that there are serious increases in the hairdressing, beauty salon and photography sectors.

Aytaç Develi, who is a tourist photographer in Alanya, said they receive intense photographic requests from tourists or foreign residents from countries like Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, usually on beaches, historical and natural areas.

Explaining that nearly 80 percent of the clients who requested the photo session are women, Develi said, “On one hand, our business increased, but there were also photographers among them. There are photographers doing business on an informal social media platform. Therefore, we suffer losses due to those who do this illegally. We have complained about this problem several times, but have not received any results.” (DHA)
